A great addition to the Strengths Finder 2.0 process. Our entire team is engaged in learning more about themselves and each other. Money well spent.
This report is about the physical condition of the twelve dollar version. In the twelve dollar value version this access code is missing. In the past I have always found this to be a true statement, so I believe the missing code is just an honest oopps. However, if the code is missing from the paper jacket, then the book is not complete. It is missing a critical portion of the material. leads one to believe it is a full printing. The day before placing this order, I ordered a separate copy of the book priced from $30.00 down to $17.00 give one to a friend. Otherwise it is an excellent product to which I would give a four or five star rating. Each copy of the hardcover version in the "Strengths" series, authored by Marcus Buckingham, includes a single use access to the "StrengthsFinders.com" evaluation. The book text is just fine. Therefore, the reader will not be able to undergo the evaluation portion of the material. In fairness, Amazon does say that the twelve dollar version is a value version and there is a statement that a value version may contain some minor flaws that do not affect the content of the book.
An access code is required for perform the evaluation. This access code is printed on the reverse side of the paper jacket that covers the hardcover binding. And the way the price is marked, that is, $30.00 slashed to $[.]. Both copies arrived on the same day allowing a comparison of the Value copy to a properly printed copy. The value copy has the following differences:-The book is physically smaller, a half inch narrower, an inch shorter-The inks are duller-The font type is slightly smaller- The paper grade is slightly lower-The StrenthFinders.com access code is missing from the inside of the paper jackerOtherwise it appears to be the same book.If you have already taken the StrengthFinders evaluation and don't care about the code there are situations for which the slightly smaller size can be an advantage, for example for someone who travels a lot and likes to read while in transit. This being said I am a big fan of the Marcus Buckingham books and would give it a rating of four or five stars otherwise.
The results have run the spectrum from some people realizing why their role is such a perfect fit for them, to others thinking about what they'd like to do more of in their roles, to others leaving the organization to pursue work that will engage them more. I have been using this book for about a year as the basis of a workshop for small groups of employees. I think the group approach provides much needed support and feedback as well as the peer pressure to stick with it. Without a doubt, the most difficult aspect continues to be developing the skills and courage to have conversations with their supervisors about how they could contribute more if they were allowed to put their strengths to work. This will require more sessions with supervisors around Buckingham's book First Break All the Rules.
I found this book to be a very comprehensive and practical guide. It is just what I am looking for. bmw
This book is based on a character test that is done online. It can only be done once, so make sure that this is a new book and that nobody else has used the code.
